Fractal Dimension Analysis of Structure and Bending Strength of Porous Alumina Prepared Using Starch and Carbon Fiber as Pore-Forming Agents

Porous alumina was prepared via a sacrificial template method using as the matrix and starch carbon fibers pore-forming agents. After sintering, no residual agents were present. The density, porosity, pore structure of samples measured Archimedes’ mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP). results showed that size distribution porous double-peak when content agent 20, 30, or 50 vol.%, but single-peak 40 vol.%. A fractal model based on MIP data used to calculate evaluate dimension (Ds) alumina. Ds values decreased with an increase in content. Furthermore, negatively correlated most probable size, median diameter positively bending strength Since has obvious characteristics, theory can be quantitatively describe its complex distribution.
